One would really think that the object now-a-days in the Army is to make the Medical Department as unpopular as possible, and to dishearten, to use a mild term, those who already belong to that service. The manner in which leave has been lately suddenly cancelled, and junior officers ordered hither and thither on very short notice, compels us to say so. We have recently heard of the transfer of the two surgeons of a regiment from station A?one to station B, and the other to station C. From station B another surgeon was at the same time sent back to station A. Surely these transfers from A to B, and B to A were unnecessary. We can understand the case
